New York Yankees…

New York Yankees…
I’m a sports fan in general, but being English, I’ve never really checked out baseball… So, being in New York, Corrie and I headed to the Yankee Stadium to check the New York Yankees play against the Toronto Blue Jays…
It was an evening game, starting at 7pm, so we wrapped up and prepared for a chilly nights entertainment…
On arrival at the Yankees Stadium, we were both overwhelmed by the sheer amount of Yankees fans swarming around outside… We picked up our tickets and headed in – note: anyone planning to check the Yankees, be warned the stadium has a strict policy on not allowing video cameras or backpacks in to the arena… Finding our seats was a bit of a mission, especially loaded up with food and drinks, but once seated we were extremely happy with our view…
The game started slowly, but it was still enjoyable, although as the game went on it was clear that Corrie was getting cold… Soon enough though the fellas in the seats around us introduced themselves to us and were hyped to have foreigners at the game with them… The atmosphere was awesome, and the fans were fantastic, welcoming Corrie and I with open arms, schooling us on Yankees history and explaining the plays that were unfolding on the field…
Two and a half hours in, and the game had become intense, with the whole crowd on its feet for the majority of the close match… After 3 hours the game climaxed with the Yankees winning – a fitting end to a brilliant evening…
This was possibly the highlight of our trip to New York so far, and I highly recommend the experience… The New York Yankees have won themselves 2 new fans…
